Hike from Rabenstein to Hennenkobel

An Adventure for Nature Lovers

You love nature and want to embark on a short but varied hike in the Bavarian Forest? Then Hennenkobel, the local mountain of Rabenstein, is an ideal destination for you.

Hennenkobel is a 965-meter-high mountain that offers a splendid view of the Bavarian Forest’s ridges—and on clear days, even as far as the Alps. The summit is a perfect spot for a break and a picnic, allowing you to peacefully appreciate the beauty of nature. However, remember to bring food and drinks as there are no refreshment options along the way.

The hike to Hennenkobel

The hike starts directly from our vacation rental, Am Kaisersteig. From here, you ascend, passing the ski slope, and at its upper end, you’ll reach hiking trail No. 4. This trail takes you directly to Hennenkobel in approximately 2.5 km. For the return journey, you can take the same path or make a loop around the rocks surrounding the summit (No. 29).

The hike is suitable for all age groups but requires some stamina and, in the last meters towards the summit, a certain level of surefootedness.
